JOB DESCRIPTION – CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER / CONTROLLER

JOB DUTIES:

Plans, organizes and directs the fiscal services department, including the development, interpretation, coordination, and administration of the home health care policies on finance, accounting, insurance, financial/accounting systems, internal controls and auditing.

Evaluates overall financial position, recommends financial plans and budgets for board approval and monitors expenditures against revenue.

Directs development and planning of financial reporting system. Reviews effectiveness of financial and accounting system, policies and procedures, directs development and implementation of improvements.

Maintains departmental reports and records and collects statistical data for administrative and regulatory purposes.

Supervises and coordinates the functions of reimbursements, budget, patient accounting, and general accounting which includes general ledger accounting accounts payable and cashiering.

Prepares reports outlining companies’ financial position in all areas of assets, liabilities, income and expense, based on past, present, and planned future operations.

Maintains inter-relationships with the CEO, COO, Controllers, Assistant Administrators of the company’s corporate officers, clinical directors, and managers. Responsibilities include management of all financial departments, allocation of resources, and preparation of annual budget. 

Informs and advises the Executive Director of financial trends and activities within company to facilitate policymaking and recommendations. Assists in presenting financial input and reports to company’s Board of Directors.
 

 

Directs the supervision of the accounting and financial staff to include hiring‚ work allocation‚ scheduling‚ training and professional development‚ problem resolution‚ performance evaluation and related supervisory activities. Maintains budgetary responsibility for the department. Responsible for Accounting, Business Office, Reimbursement, Health Information, Utilization Review, Data Processing and Admitting Registration.

Forecasts short and long range cash requirements and obligations as a basis for maintaining adequate funds.

Protects the assets of the organization through internal controls‚ internal auditing and proper insurance coverage.

Provides oversight for the Plan's medical‚ actuarial and cost of care data analysis activities; and for the Plan's provider auditing and other party liability activities.

Determines the true cost of care and future trends essential to the Plan's growth and achievement of financial objectives.

Develops and implements a plan for fiscal control including the functions of budgeting‚ general accounting‚ payment compliance and other relevant financial functions and activities.

Ensures compliance with all regulatory agencies governing managed care services and the rules of accrediting bodies by continually monitoring company’s service delivery and initiating change where appropriate and required.

Provides ongoing analysis and determination of health care costs and trends; develops reporting systems and process to quickly and accurately determine true costs for all products and services.

Collaborates and establishes relationships with corporate officers  to identify and implement the fiscal network necessary to manage‚ invest and control the organizations operations.

 

Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting or Finance plus 1 year of experience or a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Accounting or Finance with 6 years of progressive experience or equivalent.

 

SALARY:                      $ 60,000.00 per year
